Traveline Scotland provides information on all types of public transport in Scotland, and can help you plan your route.

Trains

ScotRail provides most of the train services within Scotland and its useful website is an effective resource for travellers.

East Coast operates the East Coast Main Line from Inverness and Aberdeen to Glasgow, Edinburgh and on to London.

National Rail Enquiries provides information on fares, routes and timetables for the whole of the UK railway system.

Trainline has train times, ticket booking, and seat reservations for mainland UK trains.

On inter-city journeys, it is often possible to get reductions on fares if you book in advance.
